Method v1. It uses only HIQA's published judgments, not our opinion, and is recalculated whenever a new report is published.
Bushfield Care Centre is a small nursing home in a quiet rural area near Oranmore, Galway, providing 24-hour nursing care for up to 24 residents with various needs including dementia and palliative care. Residents generally feel safe, well cared for, and enjoy the food and activities. However, inspectors found serious fire safety risks due to incomplete fire safety works and poor management oversight, which posed a danger to residents. The premises also need repairs and refurbishment. Staffing levels are adequate but some staff lack up-to-date training, especially in fire safety. Residents feel their choices are respected in daily life but not fully consulted about service charges.
